2010 Harvest Update

So far, the weather is cooperating. After a cool Spring and Summer, we are getting great weather in September and October.

We harvested the Stanton Ranch block last Thursday. Similar to the Lewelling Vineyard pick, the grapes had fully mature flavors without sky-high sugars. This is turning out to be a good year for Cabernet, at least in St. Helena, despite the doom-and-gloom reports of some journalists.

Unfortunately, the good weather is not forecast to continue. The forecasters are predicting rain this weekend, so a lot of wineries will be rushing to bring in everything that is ready.

We have one more block to go, and we'll pick that in the next few days. I'll report on that early next week.
